PORCHFEST

porchfest.jpg

Malvern Porchfest is the newest borough-wide summer event! It is a one-day free music event that is meant to build community spirit and spread joy! It is a number of small concerts by local musicians that are performed on Malvern Borough porches and front yards on a Saturday afternoon in June. Borough residents and other local community members are invited to stroll the borough neighborhoods and listen to a variety of performers.

Many Rivers is quartet of veteran songwriters form northern Chester County who, after years of playing shows together, are now playing as one band. Chris Adams is a trained classical guitarist, while Sandy Pluta plays country slide guitar. Her husband, Paul Pluta is a rock-a-billy bass player, while Jake Michael throws in a bit of jazz guitar. The result is all original music that sounds like Bach and George Benson playing western swing on Joni Mitchell's back porch. For indeed, there are Many Rivers, but they all flow together.
Our influences range from James Taylor and Emmylou Harris, to George Geshwin and Buddy Holly. You will hear echoes of bluegrass, rockabilly, bossa nova, and gospel. Our music appeals to a wide audience from Baby Boomers to Millennials. We offer a laid back show perfect for all ages, yet with a level of musical sophistication heavy duty music fans can appreciate.

You will find Many Rivers at Malvern Porchfest in our back garden from 1-2pm on Saturday, June 29th!

Looking forward to seeing you there!
