A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Fred Danziger studied at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he received the Cresson and Scheidt Awards. His career has included over 20 solo shows in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, as well as numerous group shows in New York City at Sherry French and K.R. Perlow Galleries.
Fred’s work is in almost 100 public collections, including 11 American museum. In 2016, The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art mounted a major exhibit of over 60 of his paintings. SAMA has also recently announced that he will receive their “Artist of Distinction Award” for 2018.
In 2017 Fred was also nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy, for his illustration work on broadcast documentaries, done for History Making Productions, located in Philadelphia.
Sarah Baptist was born and raised in small-town USA (Clarion, PA). At the age of 13, she worked in a local summer-stock theater and fell in love with theater set design. This launched her career of painting sets, backdrops, etc. from Maine and Wisconsin to New Hampshire and finally landing in Delaware and the Philadelphia area.
Fast forward 25 years. Sarah found herself unexpectedly unemployed in December 2013. She often dreamed of living a more creative life. Suddenly the opportunity presented itself with a bang!! With the love and support of family and friends, she launched a new career. Creating ART full time. Painting in oils is what she loves to do. Sarah began painting en plein air(outdoors) in spring 2014 and hasn’t stopped. “There is nothing like painting on the spot and capturing the essence and light of the scene around you. Urban landscapes are my favorite subject. “
As for drawing, her favorite subject is the figure. Sarah enjoys gestural and expressive drawing in charcoal, conte’ crayon and pastel for some color.
Alicia Asselta is a local artist living in Berwyn, PA with her husband and two daughters. Working primarily with oil paints on canvas, her work features subjects ranging from food and florals to farm animals.
Inspired by artists such as Georgia O’Keefe and David Hockney, she likes to explore the use of bold colors and unique composition in her paintings.
Alicia received her Fine Art degree from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA and furthered her art studies at Studio Arts Centers International in Florence, Italy.
